Braces (metal & ceramic)
Trusted, Time-Tested Treatment for a Straighter Smile
Braces remain one of the most reliable and effective orthodontic treatments available. Whether you're a child, teenager, or adult, modern braces are more comfortable and discreet than ever before - and at Orthodontics Wagga Wagga, we offer both metal and ceramic options to suit your lifestyle and goals.
Metal Braces
Proven Performance, Modern Comfort
Metal braces are the most widely used orthodontic appliance in Australia, and for good reason. They are highly effective at treating a broad range of conditions - from simple crowding to complex bite issues - and are suitable for patients of all ages.
Today's metal braces are significantly smaller, smoother, and more comfortable than older designs. Using high-grade stainless steel brackets and archwires, they apply gentle, consistent pressure to gradually guide your teeth into their ideal position.
Why choose metal braces?
Highly effective for treating a wide range of orthodontic conditions
Durable and reliable throughout treatment
Cost-effective compared to other options
Fun for younger patients who can personalise with coloured bands
Require no removal for eating or cleaning
Ceramic Braces
All the Effectiveness, Less the Visibility
Ceramic braces work in exactly the same way as metal braces but use clear or tooth-coloured brackets that blend naturally with your teeth. This makes them a popular choice for patients who want effective treatment without the prominent appearance of metal.
Ceramic braces are particularly popular with teens and adults who want a more discreet option while still benefiting from the precision and reliability of fixed appliance treatment.
Why choose ceramic braces?
Clear or tooth-coloured brackets blend with your natural smile
Just as effective as metal braces for most orthodontic conditions
A more aesthetically pleasing alternative for image-conscious patients
Suitable for teenagers and adults
What Conditions Do Braces Treat?
Both metal and ceramic braces can address a wide range of orthodontic issues, including:
Crowding and spacing of teeth
Overbite, underbite, crossbite, open bite, and deep bite
Protruding teeth
Misaligned dental midlines
Bite, chewing, or speech difficulties
What to Expect
Your treatment journey begins with a comprehensive consultation with one of our orthodontists. Using advanced 3D scanning and digital imaging, we'll assess your teeth and jaw and design a personalised treatment plan just for you.
Once your braces are fitted, you'll visit us every 4 to 8 weeks for routine adjustments. Treatment typically lasts between 18 and 36 months, depending on the complexity of your case. After your braces are removed, we'll fit you with a custom retainer to ensure your results last.
